U.S. News & World Report has ranked Regis University as number 20 among colleges and universities nationwide offering graduate online computer information technology programs. The rankings, released earlier this month, scored Regis particularly high in student engagement.

"To be recognized in the top 20 with marquee institutions such as Virginia Tech and Johns Hopkins is a testament to the commitment of everyone at Regis who contributes to our programs," said Shari Plantz-Masters, interim assistant dean of Regis' School of Computer & Information Sciences (SCIS). "The number 20 ranking confirms what we have known for years - The School of Computer & Information Sciences offers a relevant, academically rigorous graduate education that is grounded in Jesuit values and traditions."

SCIS offers six graduate programs of study in computer information technology. With focuses on information technology management to software engineering, SCIS prepares graduates to meet the demands of a growth sector projected to increase 22 percent by the end of the decade, according to occupational projections forecast by the U.S. Department of Labor.

This is the first year the SCIS programs have been recognized in the online academic program rankings.

U.S. News & World Report considers factors including admissions selectivity, peer reputation, faculty credentials, and graduation and retention rates when assigning rankings. The magazine has ranked Regis as a Top University in the West for 18 consecutive years.
