Redstone College, one of the nation's premier technical and aviation schools, announced today that Ray Garcia will lead the college's Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) program. Redstone College has been a highly respected technical college for almost 50 years, providing students the practical technical knowledge they need to find jobs in aviation maintenance, electronics, wind energy and HVAC.

As program chair, Garcia will oversee the school's largest program, where he will examine the departmental offerings and curriculum. He will also mentor and supervise A&P faculty to ensure the standards for educational excellence are met, so that students continue to receive the high-quality education that employers, such as Lockheed Martin, Embraer and Skywest Airlines, look for when hiring Redstone graduates.

Garcia previously served as an instructor at Redstone. Prior to that, he worked at the Sierra Nevada Corporation as an aircraft mechanic and structural tech lead, where he was responsible for identifying top airframe and systems talent to work on heavy structural maintenance and alterations. In 2007, Garcia won the Sierra Nevada Star Team award. Garcia has also worked at top aviation companies like Cessna, Bombardier Aerospace and Haggan Aviation. In addition to his civilian experience, Garcia served in the Air Force, where he was responsible for inspection, maintenance, electrical and mechanical troubleshooting of F-16 and B-52 aircraft armament systems.
