Please note that Council's oil dump station is currently at full capacity.

Council anticipates that the waste oil collection will be operational again by the end of January, when we will advise of its availability for local oil waste disposal.

Council would appreciate if users could hold onto waste oil until further notice when the waste oil collection will again be available.

Usually used motor oil, or 'sump oil' as it is sometimes called, should never be thrown away, poured onto the ground or into sewerage, as it can pollute soils and can enter local waterways.

Although it gets dirty, used oil can still be cleaned and re-used.

When changing the oil in your car or other motors such as lawnmowers, boats or chainsaws, be sure to dispose of it correctly. Oil picks up hazardous contaminants when used in engines and can pollute water and soil. Pour your used motor oil back into an empty oil container and take it to Council's waste management centre.
