Pritzker Group Private Capital today announced that Ryan Roberts has joined as investment partner and co-head of the group’s growing services team, which focuses on investing in and operating companies in various industries within the services sector.

Roberts joins the investing and operating teams at Pritzker Group with more than 15 years of significant leadership and investment experience. Roberts brings an ability to invest across the services sector, including tech-enabled platforms. This will allow the firm to further leverage Pritzker Group’s extensive technology base, including from sister teams at Pritzker Group Venture Capital.

Most recently Roberts was a director on the technology, media and telecom services team for Madison Dearborn Partners, where he oversaw more than $8 billion in U.S. and international transactions. Previously, he served as an associate specializing in business, IT and communications services investments for Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe, a New York-based private equity firm. Before that, Roberts was an analyst for Morgan Stanley Capital Partners.

Roberts is based in Chicago, where he and operating partner Gregg Kaplan will co-lead Pritzker Group Private Capital’s services team in their efforts to source, invest in and oversee its investments. Pritzker Group Private Capital’s existing services companies include PECO Pallet, a North American leader in pallet rental services and logistics; ENTACT, a leading environmental remediation and geotechnical construction services company; and Entertainment Cruises, the nation’s largest dining cruise company.

“Ryan brings an impressive investment track record in the services sector and we’re proud to have him join our world-class team,” said Paul Carbone, Pritzker Group Private Capital managing partner. “Ryan’s breadth of experience and ability to invest across the services spectrum, together with Gregg’s operating expertise, will allow us to be both more active and more effective services industry investors and business builders.”

Roberts holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Princeton University.
