Some homes haven't had their scheduled bin collections today because of delays at recycling and incineration plants.

We use the same plants as neighbouring councils, some of which did fewer collections over the Christmas period and are now doing extra ones, meaning there's a lot more vehicles using the sites today which has caused delays.

If your rubbish and recycling hasn't been collected today - Tuesday 2 January - please leave your bins out tonight and they will be collected tomorrow.

There could be more disruption later this week, if this happens we plan to collect any missed collections the following day. Please leave your rubbish and, if due, your recycling out for collection as normal on the scheduled day, and leave it out until it is collected.

We hope to be back to normal service by the end of the week, and would like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding at this very busy time of year.
