As thousands gather in Las Vegas for previews of future tech products and trends, labor leaders will convene in Vegas Jan. 6-8 for their own summit on the effect of technological change on the working people and the industries they support.

The 2nd Annual Labor Innovation & Technology Summit, hosted by SAG-AFTRA and the AFL-CIO, will bring together leaders from unions across the country for discussions on protecting workers in a rapidly evolving technological environment, as well as a deep dive into artificial intelligence and digital data.

SAG-AFTRA President Gabrielle Carteris, National Executive Director David White and AFL-CIO Secretary-Treasurer Liz Shuler will be joined by a host of experts in this area, including Lee Branstetter, director of the Future of Work Initiative at Carnegie Mellon University; Wael AbdAlmageed, co-director of the Center for Vision, Image, Speech and Text Analytics at USC Viterbi School of Engineering, Information Science Institute; Jonathan Taplin, Director Emeritus of USC Annenberg Innovation Lab; and Louis Hyman, director of the Institute for Workplace Studies at Cornell University ILR School.

The summit will conclude with a tour of CES highlighting the many remarkable advancements that will affect industries, consumers and, especially, working people.
