HARRISBURG - Rep. Russ Diamond (R-Lebanon) today announced he will return as a member of the House Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Gaming Oversight, and Tourism and Recreational Development committees. He also received a new assignment to the House Local Government Committee.

'With agriculture being the largest industry in the Commonwealth and an integral part of the livelihood of many Lebanon County residents, I am pleased to return to service on this important committee,' said Diamond. 'There are many new developments in the field of agriculture and I was happy that my industrial hemp legislation was approved by this committee in the previous session and was signed into law.'

Diamond said the House Gaming Oversight and Tourism and Recreational Development committees have much in common.

'These committees help draw visitors to all corners of Pennsylvania and aid in the generation of businesses and jobs as well,' said Diamond. 'Our gaming development has drawn many visitors from our border states where we were losing revenue by 'border-bleed.' We are a leader in tourism in the nation with our history, state parks system and other recreational opportunities.'

A new assignment in the 2017-18 session that Diamond received is with the House Local Government Committee.

'Local government is the bedrock of our Pennsylvania heritage, and I am pleased to serve on this important committee,' said Diamond. 'I enjoy working with our officials in Lebanon County, and I look forward to taking their concerns to Harrisburg.'
