ORANGE COUNTY, Calif., Jan. 14, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- This holiday season, Optima Tax Relief, LLC ("Optima") continued its annual Volunteer Days tradition by partnering with three local charities - Orangewood Children's Foundation, Lakeview Senior Center, and Someone Cares Soup Kitchen.

The Company promotes Volunteer Days internally by encouraging its employees to exchange their shift at the office for a day of volunteering their time with Optima's growing list of charitable partners.

"To tell you the truth, our team would do this even if we didn't consider it paid time and I'm personally very honored to treat it as if we were still working hard at our offices. Out of all the activities we participate in together as a Company this is by far the most meaningful," says Harry Langenberg, co-founder and managing partner.

Indeed, the charities continually indicate that volunteers play a vital role in making their operations possible. "Too frequently people think of Orange County as uniformly affluent," says Kellee Murphy, coordinator of Someone Cares Soup Kitchen. "But in reality, we have large communities of people who are in-need. Given our modest budget, volunteers are absolutely critical to us being able to meet the demand for our services."

Juliet Patina, program manager at the Orangewood Children's Foundation also notes the importance of volunteers. "We serve over 700 children, and our food and gift programs are sizable undertakings. Having Optima's energetic volunteers helping us sort and wrap the gifts, cook meals, and decorate our facilities really made a big impact," says Ms. Patina. "Their efforts and energy were greatly appreciated by our staff and, more importantly, by the children here. You could feel the respect and compassion in all the warm interactions between Optima's people and the children."

Company staff also contributed for three days at Lakeview Senior Center, where they took up table-waiting and food preparation as well as filling the roles of Santa Claus and his elves for holiday events. (Photos can be seen in a short video on YouTube.)

"The drive to make a difference in the lives of others is what makes Optima's staff the best people I've ever worked with," says David King, president of Optima Tax Relief. "Our employees are compassionate by nature," states Mr. King. "Every day we're helping our clients solve serious financial problems, oftentimes when they have nowhere else to turn. What you see during Volunteer Days is quite simply a charitable extension of their helpful spirit."
