The power of open data will be a key theme at the Questionmark 2014 Users Conference, where Learning strategist and industry analyst Bryan Chapman will deliver the keynote address on Transforming Open Data into Meaning and Action.

Chapman will explore ways to maximize the value of assessment-related data and will illustrate some creative methods for using standards such as the Open Data Protocol (OData) as a natural part of the learning and performance ecosystem.

"If you want to discover patterns of behavior that make companies successful, what better variable to plug in than testing and assessment data?" Chapman asks. "Open data is really the enabler for linking learning and performance with key company metrics, income, productivity, retention, and lots of bottom line results -- especially as other parts of the business makes their data available through open channels."

Chapman is Chief Learning Strategist at The Chapman Alliance, a provider of research-centric consulting solutions that assist organizations in defining, operating and optimizing their strategic learning initiatives. He has been invited to discuss learning best practices, tips and techniques at conferences such as Training, ASTD, TechLearn, Learning Solutions, DevLearn and many others.

The conference, to be held at the Grand Hyatt San Antonio, will bring Questionmark customers together for three days of learning centered on technical training, customer case studies, technology demonstrations and discussions about best practices for creating and deploying online surveys, quizzes, tests and exams. Several sessions will explore Questionmark's OData API, which makes it possible to access assessment results data securely to create custom reports and dashboards or to analyze in third-party business intelligence tools.
