Signing of natural gas export agreements between Iran and its neighbors will intertwine security of the regional countries together and this is significant in preserving Iran's security, managing director of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC), Hamidreza Araqi said. 'Natural gas export is going to benefit both the recipient countries and Iran,' Araqi added, Iran's SHANA news agency reported. 'Recipients of the Iranian natural gas can turn the wheels of their economies, while Iran can foster its development through selling the commodity,' Araqi said. Elsewhere in the interview, the official said Iran's gas export to Iraq's city of Basra would begin with 7 million cubic meters per day and ultimately reach 25 MMcm/d.
