Whether you missed the movies nominated for Best Picture at the Academy Awards, or you need a refresh before the big night, AMC Theatres has you covered for the 10th straight year with the AMC Best Picture Showcase. In what’s become an annual Oscars® tradition for movie-lovers around the country, the AMC Best Picture Showcase takes place over the course of two Saturdays – Feb. 20 and Feb. 27.

Also returning on Feb. 27 at select locations around the country is AMC’s Best Picture Marathon, featuring all eight nominated movies in one sitting. Once again guests can crowdsource additional Marathon locations by nominating their favorite AMC theatre.

The long-running AMC Best Picture Showcase has attracted a loyal fan base, which continues to grow year after year, with some guests avoiding potential nominees completely so they can see them all at once to evaluate what movie will take home the biggest prize of the night.

“There’s a true sense of community, as so many of these guests come back every year, often bringing friends and family members who are experiencing the event for the first time,” said Stephen Colanero, Chief Marketing Officer, AMC. “At many locations, guests who often only know each other through this event come back to catch up with each other, and with the best films of the year.”

In addition to the seven locations already announced for the Best Picture Showcase Marathon, AMC is partnering with crowdfunding platform Tugg to allow guests the option to bring the Marathon to their favorite location.

To participate, guests can visit amctheatres.com/bps to see participating locations, and nominate their favorite AMC theatre for the AMC Best Picture Showcase Marathon. Guests can “reserve” a ticket at that theatre, and once 75 tickets are reserved, the event is on!

Pricing for the one-day, two-day and Marathon events vary by location. AMC Stubs members will receive an additional $5 AMC Stubs Bonus Bucks added to their membership card for each one-day pass purchased, up to four tickets. Members who purchase a two-day pass or purchase a ticket to the Marathon event will receive $10 AMC Stubs Bonus Bucks to their membership card. AMC Stubs Bonus Bucks can be used for concessions throughout that day.

Beginning Wednesday, Jan. 20, tickets are on sale online at amctheatres.com/bps and at the box offices of participating AMC locations. The two-day pass is available only at the box office of participating theatres. Follow the Best Picture Oscar buzz on Twitter by using the hashtag #amcbps or on Facebook at facebook.com/amctheatres.

The Academy Awards® will be presented on Sunday, Feb. 28, at the Dolby Theatre at the Hollywood & Highland Center® and televised live on ABC.
