Mitsui Fudosan America, Inc. (MFA) www.mfamerica.com, the U.S. operations of Japan's largest real estate company, announced today that it will launch an emerging artists program at its property at 527 Madison Avenue. The inaugural event featuring Brooklyn-based artist, Tracy Miller, will take place on January 15, 2014.

"This expresses both our commitment to emerging artists of exceptional talent and our support for the artistic and cultural community of New York," said Yukio Yoshida, President and CEO of MFA. "The program signifies Mitsui Fudosan's deep interest in aligning structure with individual expression, global vision with local culture."

This is the first of a series of rotating exhibitions that will primarily showcase emerging artists based in New York. Miller's four-large scale paintings will be on display from January 15 - May 9, 2014 in the lobby of 527 Madison Avenue from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Miller will be in attendance at the reception on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 from 5:00 to 7:00pm.

The exhibit will feature Miller's Buzz Buzz Buzz, Salt Water Taffy, Ambrosia and Tiny Bubbles, which riff on the tradition of still-life paintings in a contemporary manner. Each painting demonstrates Miller's ability to engage the viewer by depicting familiar objects within a visually dynamic composition. Miller's playful tone translates to a somewhat chaotic array of flowers and food products, easily recognizable from advertising and branding.

Miller has received awards from the Pollock-Krasner Foundation, The Elizabeth Foundation of the Arts, the Skowhegan School, and a purchase prize from the American Academy of Letters. She recently was featured in a solo exhibition in Washington, D.C. Miller is represented by Feature Inc., a gallery located on Manhattan's Lower East Side, (www.featureinc.com).

The focus of MFA's emerging artists program series will initially be two-dimensional works of art, displayed on the lobby's monolithic walls. In the future sculptures will be considered for display. The program was developed to support the artistic community of New York by providing exposure for up and coming, noteworthy artists who have recently received recognition for their work. MFA is in the early stages of expanding the program to surrounding metropolitan areas, including Washington D.C., at its Homer Building.

527 Madison Avenue is a boutique commercial office building located at the corner of 54th Street and Madison Avenue in New York City. Completed in 1986, it was designed by celebrated architectural firm Fox and Fowle. The property has recently completed lobby and elevator upgrades. MFA purchased 527 Madison Ave. on September 17, 2008.
