On Friday, 27 January 2017, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Teodor Meleșcanu welcomed the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Bucharest, Osman Koray Ertaş.

The meeting was an opportunity to reiterate the very good level of bilateral cooperation between Romania and the Republic of Turkey, reflected in the dialogue at all levels, falling within the scope of the Strategic Partnership and of the traditional relations between the two countries.

The Head of Romanian diplomacy underlined Romania's openness to further strengthen this cooperation in areas of common interest such as the economy or regional security.

During the discussions, the Romanian Minister expressed Romania's support for Turkey's stability, as important member of NATO and key partner of the EU.

The meeting also discussed topics on the European and international agenda, focusing on migration and on fighting against terrorism.
