Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman on Thursday received a farewell visit from the United States' Ambassador William Robert Kohorst.

The minister thanked the ambassador for his contribution to the strengthening of bilateral relations and partnership between Croatia and the US, highlighting the headway made in terms of visa cancellation for Croatian nationals and talks on the Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement.

The two officials also discussed yesterday's incidents at the Capitol. 'Croatia is against any form of violence, especially in an institution that is considered the seat of democracy. We firmly believe that democracy and the United States' strong institutions will overcome in the end,' Grlić Radman said.

Both sides agreed that it was necessary to continue promoting multilateralism as a way of resolving international issues and to reinforce transatlantic cooperation.

Lastly, Grlić Radman thanked Kohorst for the messages of hope and willingness to help during the previous week's earthquake in Sisak-Moslavina County.
