Ministry of Finance of Republic of Indonesia : Human Resources is the Most Valuable Asset of an Organization

Jakarta, 23/01/2017 MoF - Based on the Presidential Decree of the Republic of Indonesia Number 10 / TPA Year 2017 concerning Termination and Designation of, and in Intermediate High Level Position within the Ministry of Finance (MoF), the Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati innaugurated 2 Echelon I offcials namely Sumiyati as Inspector General (IG) and Astera Primanto Bhakti as the Chief Financial Education and Training Agency (BPPK) on Monday (23/01).

In the event that took place in the Mezzanine hall, Juanda building, Ministry of Finance head office, the Minister emphasized that the two positions are very important for the Ministry of Finance to function as an organization whose not only has integrity but also effectiveness which can excute ideas concretely.

In her speech, the Minister explained that the Inspector General and the Head of BPPK are very important posisitions because of both are related with Human Resources (HR) aspect which is the most valuable asset of an organization.

The Minister congratulated Sumiyati especially, who is the first female Inspector General at the Ministry of Finance. Then, to Astera, the Minister reminded him that the quality of HR in the MoF is the institution's capital towards success.

The Minister believes that the MoF as a growing organization is required to conduct education and training. Thus, it empowers a capacity to make a policy breakthrough, but also to anticipate environment change where the MoF operates under legislations.

'We have an enormous urgency because we need so much to develop. Our need are varies, cannot be postponed, and the people cannot wait for any longer. Thus, speed become vital, however it does not mean that we could break the rules. So, the mindset to give solutions without compromising to the principles that must be upheld, that is the challenge which is never easy, 'explained the Minister in her speech.

'This is one of the tasks and challenges that have to be managed. How to prepare the MoF HR so that he/she is not only chasing changes, but also can anticipate them either internally as well as in the environment where we operate such as structure organization change, or technology,' added the minister.

At the end of her speech, the Minister reminded the presence of government's role to response change. 'The way we spend money has been changed a lot, and it will still ongoing. Because people hoping to government to present and function to resolve society's different problems using government's revenues and assets. They expect the presence of government's role that are effective and responsible,' she completed. (nr/rsa)
