Rule-making authority of the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) and the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) would be eliminated, if four state House Republicans get their way.

Introduced Thursday, House File (HF) 551 would do just that. HF 551 authors are: reps. Steve Green (R-Fosston), John Poston (R-Lake Shore), Abigail Whelan (R-Ramsey) and Sondra Erickson (R-Princeton).

Additionally, HF 551 sunsets all current rules July 1, 2022, and gives legislative committees jurisdiction over the making and review of rules.
