At the current moment and in the forthcoming months, the water supply of settlements and complex and significant irrigation dams is guaranteed, said the Minister of environment and water Ivelina Vasileva at today's government meeting. She provided information on the available water supply volume in the dams and the forecast for snow reserves as water equivalent. According to her, the availability of more than double the snow reserve expected is to ensure a sufficient inflow to the dams that will guarantee that the demand for water is met, whereas at the same time there will be enough volume to take in the water produced by the melting of the snow and the spring freshet.

I have the feeling that in the past few days we have been living in a theater of absurdity. Until yesterday there were questions whether the damns will overflow, today I hear from the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) that the damns are drained and below the dead minimum volume. None of the two is true, said Vasileva.

'We take a lot of our time to deal with empty words. This is the policy line that they have decided to follow - to frighten people,' commented Prime Minister Boyko Borissov. People expect of us to say what is to be built upon in this country, what is to be made better, how we are to solve the problems we have so that everyone has a better life, pointed out Borissov and called on the ministers to explain their actions and the situation to the people, not to BSP.
