LONDON, Sept 15 (Reuters) - The IMF had hoped Ethiopia would move forward with restructuring its debt, fund spokesperson Gerry Rice said at a press conference on Thursday.

He told reporters he could not give an update on the progress of the negotiations under the Common Framework process or the date of a fund visit.

An IMF mission had been expected to visit in September, after Ethiopia's bilateral creditors recommitted to providing debt relief in August, but there has since been renewed fighting in the country's civil war. (Reporting by Rachel Savage; Editing by Toby Chopra)
