Health-care companies fell, but not by as much as the broad market, as traders rotated out of higher risk sectors such as technology.

French drug giant Sanofi and Exscientia struck a partnership deal on drug development in oncology and immunology, with Exscientia set to receive up to $5.3 billion on the joint venture.

The director of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention said that more children are currently hospitalized with Covid-19 than at any other point in the pandemic, capping a week in which federal regulatory authorities in the U.S. have scrambled to keep up with a fast-moving surge of Covid-19 cases.
