The ONECommunity Scholarship Program will award 20 college scholarships of $5,000 each to high school seniors who embody a commitment to community and academic excellence. In 2016 through the ONECommunity Scholarship Program, HarborOne pledged $1 million over 10 years to provide college scholarships to selected high school students in an effort to ease the financial burden that holds back far too many promising students from a college education.

HarborOne Bank expanded its college scholarship program in 2016, raising its annual college scholarship fund from $10,000 per year to $100,000 and its individual award from $1,000 per student to $5,000. Over the last decade, HarborOne has provided more than $300,000 in college scholarships.
The online application process opened on Monday, January 15, 2018. Recipients will be chosen from a competitive pool of applicants by the Scholarship Committee at HarborOne Bank. Committee members base their decisions on a number of factors, including students' academic transcript, personal essays and level of participation in community and school activities as well as awards and recognition received. A letter of recommendation is strongly suggested.
The scholarships are one-year awards to students attending an accredited two or four-year college or university. Eligible candidates include high school seniors with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and whose immediate family has an active account at HarborOne Bank opened prior to March 15, 2018.
High school students entering their freshman year of college in September, 2018 will have until Friday, March 15, 2018 to apply for a scholarship.
