Jan. 21-27 will be Wyoming School Choice Week, thanks to an official gubernatorial proclamation from Gov. Matt Mead. He joins dozens of other governors and hundreds of city and county leaders nationwide in officially proclaiming National School Choice Week.

In Wyoming, 62 events and activities – part of the 32,000 nationwide – have been planned to celebrate opportunity in education and spark conversations about the types of educational opportunities parents have, or want to have, for their children. Events include rallies, roundtable discussions, coffeehouse meet-ups, festivals, school fairs, and more.

“We’re happy that Wyoming will be participating in National School Choice Week, and we’re grateful to Gov. Mead for issuing this proclamation,” said Andrew Campanella, president of National School Choice Week. “Parents need to know about the choices they have, and we’re grateful to all the event planners, school leaders, parents, teachers, and others helping to spread the word so parents can find the best school or educational setting for their children.”

Held every January, National School Choice Week is an independent, nonpartisan, nonpolitical public awareness effort designed to shine a positive spotlight on effective education options for every child. Through thousands of independently planned events across the country, National School Choice Week raises public awareness of all types of educational choices available to children. These options include traditional public schools, public charter schools, public magnet schools, online learning, private schools, and homeschooling.
