www.gsclogistics.com – On January 1st, 2019, all trucks serving international container terminals in Seattle and Tacoma must be compliant with a new Clean Truck Program. GSC Logistics, Inc., an industry-leader in third party logistics, has already seen a huge increase in calls to handle freight in and out of the terminals because 100% of their truck fleet meets the new requirements.

“Many truckers previously serving the Ports in the Pacific Northwest are not compliant with the environmentally friendly Clean Truck Program,” said Andres Garcia, chairman and executive vice president of GSC Logistics. “100% of our fleet conforms to the new program so we were ready on day one.”

Garcia continued, “We’ve been flooded with calls to handle container drayage in and out of the Ports. We have doubled our compliant Green Fleet and can handle the increased volumes for our existing customers as well as new ones.”

"The ports of Seattle and Tacoma will only allow compliant tractors on the terminals, i.e. 2007 engine or newer units. These tractors will reduce emissions and improve the wellbeing of surrounding communities to the ports. The Clean Truck Program will have a beneficial and permanent impact on the health of Seattle and Tacoma residents into the future."

“GSC holds environmental stewardship as one of its core organizational objectives and operates a fleet of fully electric tractors,” said Scott Taylor, CEO and president. “We have decades of experience developing and implementing innovative programs to help improve air quality around the ports. We reside as Co-Chairperson for the Port of Oakland’s Maritime Quality Improvement Program (MAQIP) representing all industry stakeholders.
