Interstate construction closures & news for night of January 20 through January 28, 2017

Project news: Sunshine Skyway Bridge, Dick Misener and Bunces Pass Bridge Repairs on I-275

Night lane closures on the Skyway Bridge

St. Petersburg, FL - One lane may be closed on southbound I-275/US 19 on the Sunshine Skyway Bridge from 7:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. Friday through Sunday (January 20 - 29) nights and in either direction Sunday through Thursday (January 22 - 26) nights.

I-75 short-term construction/maintenance

Lanes closed two nights on northbound I-75 ramp to I-4

Tampa, FL - Alternating lanes will be closed on the northbound I-75 exit ramp to I-4 (Exit 261) between 9:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. Sunday and Thursday (January 22 and 26) nights.

Tampa, FL - One to two lanes will be closed on southbound I-75 in the I-4 (Exit 261) area between 9:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. Monday through Wednesday (January 23 - 25) nights.

Project news: I-4 entrance ramps onto northbound I-75 interchange improvement

Lane closures on Sligh Avenue under I-75

Tampa, FL - One lane may be closed and controlled by flagging operations on Sligh Avenue under the I-4/I-75 interchange area any time of the day or night Friday and Saturday (January 20 and 21) and Monday through Saturday (January 23 - 28).

Project news: I-75 Widening from north of County Road 54 to north of State Road 52

State Road 52 may be closed nightly at I-75

San Antonio, FL - State Road 52 may be closed under I-75 between 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. Friday through Tuesday (January 20 - 24) nights as crews demolish the northbound I-75 bridge over SR 52 (northbound traffic was shifted to the new southbound bridge on January 12, 2017 for the next construction phase). All interchange ramps will be open, but traffic will not be able to cross under I-75 on SR 52.

DETOUR: Traffic will be detoured onto the interstate to the next interchange and then back onto the interstate in the other direction to exit at SR 52 and continue in the original travel direction. Here are the specific detour directions:

EASTBOUND SR 52 DETOUR: Eastbound SR 52 traffic will be directed onto southbound I-75 then directed to exit at CR 54 (Exit 279). Traffic will turn left off the exit ramp and cross under I-75, then turn left and enter northbound I-75 to Exit 285 and go right off the ramp onto eastbound SR 52.

WESTBOUND SR 52 DETOUR: Westbound SR 52 traffic will be directed onto northbound Interstate 75 then directed to exit at CR 41 (Exit 293). Traffic will turn right off the ramp and cross over I-75, then turn left and enter southbound I-75 to Exit 285 and go right off the ramp onto westbound SR 52.

Wesley Chapel/San Antonio, FL - One lane may be closed in each direction of I-75 anywhere from north of County Road 54 (Exit 279) to north of SR 52 (Exit 285) between 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. Friday night, January 20 and Sunday through Friday (January 22 - 27) nights.

San Antonio, FL - There may be lane closures on State Road 52 between Old Pasco Road and McKendree Road between 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. Friday night, January 20 and Sunday through Friday (January 22 - 27) nights. Watch for flaggers directing traffic.

Project news: I-75 Widening from south of U.S. 98/SR 50 to the Hernando/Sumter counties line

Night lane closures on I-75 in northern Hernando County

Ridge Manor, FL - One lane may be closed in each direction of I-75 from south of SR 50 (Exit

301) to the Hernando/Sumter counties line between 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. Sunday through Thursday (January 22 - 26) nights.

Night and day lane closures on SR 50 in the I-75 area

Ridge Manor, FL - One lane of SR 50 (Cortez Boulevard) may be closed from I-75 up to a half mile in each direction between 6:30 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. Sunday through Thursday (January 22 -

26) nights and from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday (January 23 -27).

During some of the night closures, drivers can expect traffic shifts and delays between 7:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. on SR 50 in the I-75 interchange area as traffic may be reduced to one lane in each direction and both directions of traffic placed on the westbound lanes. This will result in two- way traffic on what normally is a two-lane westbound section of roadway.

In addition, all traffic entering and exiting I-75 may be limited to right turns only. This will mean drivers who normally would be making a left turn movement onto or off the ramps may have to go the opposite direction and make a U-Turn on SR 50 to go in their desired direction. Traffic congestion and delays are expected during the traffic shifts on SR 50 and on the I-75 exit ramps whenever traffic is in this temporary overnight alignment.
