About 500 people, including Wisconsin Reps. Josh Zepnick and Jessie Rodriguez, and Alderman Jose Perez are expected at a school choice breakfast and school fair hosted by Hispanics for School Choice. EXPO Educación 2018, which is open to the public, begins at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 27 at Mexican Fiesta’s Flores Hall.

About 20 schools from all sectors will have informational booths at the fair, and the Dance Academy of Mexico students will teach attendees the National School Choice Week 2018 official dance.

This event is planned to coincide with the history-making celebration of National School Choice Week 2018, which will feature more than 32,000 school choice events across all 50 states.

“Education is the key to success, so let’s give all children access to the best schools. Parents need to know their options in order to take the best decisions for their children,” said Tammy Olivas of Hispanics for School Choice. “Your zip code doesn’t define your IQ. All kids are smart; let’s give them options. Expo Educación 2018 wants to bring the schools closer to the parents.”

Flores Hall is located at 2997 S. 20th Street in Milwaukee.

As a nonpartisan, nonpolitical public awareness effort, National School Choice Week shines a positive spotlight on effective education options for students, families, and communities around the country.
