School choice supporters in Boston will screen a new documentary film and host a roundtable discussion about the need for increased education options in Massachusetts on January 23, organizers announced today.

The event, which is hosted by the Pioneer Institute, will be held at 6:00 PM at AMC Boston Common 19. It is timed to coincide with National School Choice Week 2014, the nation's largest-ever celebration of educational opportunity.

The event will feature a screening of the 38-minute film, "The Ticket: The Many Faces of School Choice," a new documentary by award-winning filmmaker Bob Bowdon.

The film highlights the changes in the school choice landscape across the country - which has transformed from a collection of individual factions to a movement rallying around empowering all parents with the freedom to decide the right educational choices for their children. It examines school choice options in Los Angeles, Topeka, Kansas City, Chicago, Cleveland, Exton, PA and Rochester, NY.

In addition to Bowdon, speakers at the roundtable discussion will include Jim Stergios, Executive Director of the Pioneer Institute, Dr. Cara Stillings Candal, Senior Fellow at Pioneer Institute; and Dr. Charles L. Glenn, professor of educational leadership at Boston University.
