By WIESBADEN- In October 2013, German local courts recorded a total of 2,222 business insolvencies. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) reports that this was a decline of 7.6% or 183 cases compared with October 2012. The last time a year-on-year increase in the number of business insolvencies was recorded was in October 2012 (+1.8%).
The local courts reported that, in relation to the business insolvency requests, the expected amount of outstanding debits owed to creditors amounted to 4.9 billion euros in October 2013. In October 2012, they totalled 3.9 billion euros.
