The Cloud Standards Customer Council (CSCC) is pleased to announce that it will be hosting the "Public Sector Cloud Summit" at the Hyatt Regency in Reston, VA on Monday, March 24th, 2014. The event will run concurrently with the Object Management Group (OMG®) technical meeting and will bring together public sector cloud leaders to exchange information about current projects, future plans, and prioritized requirements.

Highlights from the day will include:

  • An overview of current and future plans and requirements for U.S. government cloud projects by David McClure, Associate Administrator of the Office of Citizen Services and Communications
  • A case study on the Department of Labor's experience moving to cloud computing
  • A panel discussion of vendor perspectives - including IBM, Dell, Oracle, Microsoft and Lockheed Martin -- on public sector requirements for cloud computing

"The Public Sector Cloud Summit will bring together public sector cloud leaders, standards development organizations, and cloud providers to discuss needed standards, best practices, current projects, and future plans," said Melvin Greer, Senior Fellow at Lockheed Martin and chair of the CSCC Steering Committee. "This event will appeal to a broad range of cloud participants since the challenges, requirements and best practices for cloud computing in the public sector are very similar and relevant to other industries."

The registration fee for the event is $175 USD for CSCC members; $225 USD for non-members. Attendees of the OMG technical meeting may attend the Summit as part of their registration. To view the full agenda and to register, visit www.cloud-council.org/032414/agenda.htm.
