Jamie L. Matthews, Mayor of Santa Clara, extended an official welcome to the Denver Broncos and Carolina Panthers, who will be competing in Super Bowl 50 at Levi’s® Stadium in Santa Clara on February 7, 2016.

In a special video announcement filmed in front of Levi’s® Stadium, Mayor Matthews said, “We look forward to hosting both teams and all their fans for the golden anniversary game right here in the City of Santa Clara, ‘The Center of What’s Possible.’” Matthews encouraged visitors to explore Santa Clara’s many restaurants, shops, museums and parks while they’re in town for the game.

As the host city and a designated Super Community for Super Bowl 50, the City of Santa Clara is hosting a number of “Countdown to Kickoff” community events in the next two weeks. Residents and visitors can visit the Pro Football Hall of Fame “Gridiron Glory” exhibit at the Triton Museum of Art, attend the STEM Innovation Bowl on January 30, enjoy the Super Community Concert and Fireworks (featuring Heart) on January 31, or participate in the day-long Super Celebration at Santa Clara University on February 6. That event will include a Celebrity Sweat® flag football game, pep rally, NFL player autographs, Flavors of Santa Clara, NFL 49ers Play 60 Youth Zone, Fan Experience Zone, and a marquee concert featuring Huey Lewis and the News.
