BEIJING, July 12 (Reuters) - China's imports of iron ore in June rose 2.2% from a year earlier, customs data showed on Friday.

The world's largest iron ore consumer brought in 97.61 million metric tons of the key steelmaking ingredient last month, data from the country's General Administration of Customs showed.

In the first half of 2024, China's iron ore imports totalled 611.18 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 6.2%, the data showed. (Reporting by Amy Lv and Mei Mei Chu; Editing by Muralikumar Anantharaman)
