The normal waste and recycling calendar for collections has now resumed. Crews finished their catch-up collections on Saturday and collected high volumes of waste and recycling. A small amount of outstanding collections remain and residents affected are advised to leave this out and crews will reach them as soon as possible.

If residents wish to contact us regarding the collection of outstanding waste and recycling they should use our report it form www.cheltenham.gov.uk/reportit_bins. We'd like to thank residents for their patience and understanding during this time.

Garden waste collections

All scheduled garden waste collections resumed last week which included the collection of Christmas trees.

If you had your collection cancelled, any additional side waste will be collected from your household. Additional garden waste should be presented in plastic boxes or re-usable hessian sacks. Crews will not be able to collect garden waste presented in plastic bags.

Christmas tree collections

If a garden waste crew goes into your road and you have left your tree out, it will be collected.

If a garden waste crew does not pass by your house and you wish to recycle your tree please take your tree to Swindon Road recycling centre during opening hours.

Alternatively, Ubico Ltd refuse crews will collect Christmas trees for two weeks during their rounds until Monday 22 January, however the tree will not be recycled but will go to landfill.

Please note: Christmas trees should be free of decorations, pots or stands and trees up to five feet or one and a half metres tall can be left out whole. Trees larger than this will not be able to be accepted as they will not fit into the trucks and we ask residents to cut them down before being put out for collection.

Bring bank sites

Ubico teams have been clearing the bring bank sites so that residents can continue to recycle materials in these locations.

Please avoid leaving waste on the floor at these sites if the banks are full as this can present a health and safety risk. If possible please use your kerb-side green boxes or bring it to the recycling centre at Swindon Road which is open and able to accept all waste including food and refuse.
