Central Ore Mining and Processing Plant : GOK invests UAH 2.8 million in modernizing the lights of open pit mine equipment

[Attachment]Central Iron Ore Enrichment Works (Central GOK) of Metinvest Group finished the project on the renewal of lights of mining equipment at Gleyevatsky, Petrovsky and Artyomovsky open pit mines. The investments amounted to UAH 2.8 mln.

Excavators and drilling rigs were equipped with energy saving lights. In total, 250 of 130 W and 800 of 10 W lamps were installed on the machinery. The lights are well suitable for mining environment as they are impact and vibration resistant, and can withstand temperature drops from -40 ^оСto +50 ^оС.

Dmitry Shevchik, the general director of Central GOK:

- Reduction of energy consumption is one of important areas for upgrade of operations at Central GOK. Last year, the enterprise delivered 58 projects on energy saving. The benefit of these projects totalled UAH 12 million of cash savings. Also, new approaches improved the working conditions and made them safer and more comfortable for the employees. In 2018, we plan to introduce energy saving solutions for all business units and industrial areas of the enterprise.
