Congressman Bill Johnson (R-Marietta) released the following statement after President Donald Trump signed the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement:

'Today is a historic day, as President Trump signed the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) into law. Our businesses (both small and large), workers, and economy will all benefit from this trade deal.

'Estimates say it will add $68 billion to our economy and create over 170,000 new American jobs. In Ohio alone, over 100,000 jobs depend on exports to Mexico and Canada. Make no mistake, this is a big day; this trade agreement will have tremendous benefits for those I represent. Just like Phase One of the China trade deal, this is another economic promise that President Trump has made good on. It was way past time for the outdated NAFTA agreement to be put in the shredder and to stand up for the American worker...the USMCA does that.

'Thank you to President Trump, U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer, and all those behind the scenes who worked so hard to make today's momentous milestone a reality.'
