Artisan Mobile, creator of the industry's first Mobile Experience Management (MEM) platform, today announced the Winter '14 software release for the Artisan® MEM platform. Artisan's integrated MEM platform allows non-technical customers such as marketers, designers, and product managers to analyze, test, optimize, personalize, and instantly publish changes to native mobile apps without writing code or resubmitting to mobile app stores. The major software update includes the following:

  • Power hooks for advanced customization, A/B testing and personalization
  • Export of all source analytics data
  • General availability of Artisan® Analyze, which delivers comprehensive "collect everything" mobile analytics with absolutely no coding and is now available at no cost to all organizations
  • General availability of Artisan® Personalize, which allows customers to provide customized mobile experiences for targeted user groups
  • Android support for both Artisan Analyze and Artisan® Optimize

Power Hooks

Artisan continues to lead the way in simplifying and automating complex mobile app management functions with the release of Power Hooks. Power Hooks add amazing flexibility to mobile apps by making any aspect of the app (including design layout, functionality, and navigation schemes) highly customizable without writing code or resubmitting to app stores.

The process is simple: developers configure the Power Hook once and business users are then free to customize and test ongoing without writing code. For the first time, complex mobile app enhancements that would normally require IT support can now be accomplished without coding - greatly speeding time to market while reducing internal costs.

For even greater value, businesses can use Power Hooks to create different versions of an app and then use Artisan Optimize to conduct A/B tests to see which version of the app performs best. In addition, Power Hooks add significant flexibility and creativity when used in conjunction with Artisan Personalize to create highly customized experiences for specific user audiences.

Data Export

Many app analytics providers today offer their customers data in reports but do not offer the source data. In addition to offering summary reports, Artisan now exports all source data to Analyze customers, giving them the ability to combine their mobile app data with their existing analytics and reporting tools, as well as look for their own trends.

For example, an e-retailer using an e-commerce platform such as Magento, ATG, WebSphere, or Demandware can link their customers to the Artisan platform and track every single action their mobile app users make. They can then export any and all of these actions from Artisan, allowing their analytics teams to pinpoint precisely what each and every one of their mobile customers is doing, correlate this analysis with what they already know about their customers across channels, and export this rich knowledge back into their commerce engine.

Comprehensive, All-in-One Platform

Unlike today's point solutions, the products on the Artisan MEM platform are fully integrated with one user interface and SDK and share key features and data, enabling customers to seamlessly manage the entire native app experience in one environment. For instance, a company employing the full MEM suite can discover segments of high potential customers using Analyze, save that segment, use Optimize to test different messages and designs for that segment, and then use Personalize to create targeted content and experiences for that same segment.

"Today's release is another major step by Artisan to move the mobile industry forward with powerful new app enhancement capabilities for business users," said Bob Moul, CEO, Artisan. "While Mobile app development has flourished, mobile management and productivity tools have lagged behind. Our goal from day one has been to make managing a mobile app as easy as managing a website. Artisan enables developers and business users to collaborate efficiently on one platform to maximize the return on investment in mobile apps."
