The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Animal Plant Health and Inspection Service (APHIS) is notifying the public that the Philippines has been added to the list of regions affected by Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) of any subtype.

This action comes after HPAI was reported in the Philippines in August 2017. In response to the outbreak, APHIS immediately placed restrictions on imported poultry and poultry products from that country to minimize the risk of introducing HPAI into the United States. This action is published in today's Federal Register and may be viewed here.
