API: Keystone XL Pipeline is critical to building 21st Century energy infrastructure system

WASHINGTON, January 26, 2017 - API President and CEO Jack Gerard released the following statement as TransCanada filed its application for the cross-border permit needed to complete the Keystone XL Pipeline.

'Today's action to reapply for the Keystone XL Pipeline's cross-border permit is an important step forward to building a 21 Century energy infrastructure system across our nation,' said Gerard. 'The Keystone XL Pipeline would support tens of thousands of jobs, contribute billions of dollars to our economy, and deliver energy efficiently and safely to consumers.

'We applaud President Trump's commitment to promoting our nation's energy infrastructure and creating jobs and look forward to working with this administration on policies to continue our nation's energy renaissance that's providing benefits for American consumers and workers, and the environment.'
