ACCESS CO., LTD., a global provider of advanced software technologies to the mobile, beyond-PC and digital TV markets, today announced the launch of ACCESS? MediaPilot, a DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) Certified® software which enables consumers to share music, movies and photos on connected TVs, PCs, iPads, tablets and mobile phones without hooking up cables, copying files or becoming a networking expert. The app is now available on the Apple iTunes store and ACCESS MediaPilot site (http://mediapilot.access-company.com).

By removing the technical barriers to content sharing in the networked home, ACCESS MediaPilot enables content owners and distributors, operators and CE device manufacturers to provide consumers with exciting new ways of enjoying content as well as opening up new business models. ACCESS MediaPilot is based on ACCESS' NetFront? Living Connect, a DLNA® Technology Component? solution which enables seamless multimedia access and sharing in the digital home. The ACCESS MediaPilot iPad app is DLNA Certified®. The Windows version is available free to consumers at http://mediapilot.access-company.com. ACCESS is also making SDKs available to developers who want to provide seamless media sharing in their products and services.

"Up until now you have had to be pretty geeky to share media over a home network. ACCESS MediaPilot changes that by making it easy for any movie or music lover to share and control their media over a PC, phone, tablet and TV," said Dr. Neale Foster, VP of Global Sales IA, ACCESS.

"ACCESS MediaPilot uses the power of DLNA® and UPnP to link consumer devices and builds in consumer-friendly features such as remote volume control and 'swipe-to-TV' in one incredibly easy to set-up and use package. This solution means you no longer have to hook-up cables, copy files and understand network protocols to share movies, music and photos on a home network," said Foster.

Key ACCESS MediaPilot features include:

  • Media sharing and playback of movies, music and photos
  • Stream movies and music to any DLNA Certified® or UPnP device in your house
  • 'Swipe-to-TV' feature
  • Media discovery and search
  • Available for Windows PC and iPad
  • Start remote playback by simply dragging and dropping media files
  • Remotely adjust device playback volume.
