HSBC Trinkaus & Burkhardt AG (Private Banking) (HSBCT&B) is the private banking arm of Germany-based HSBC Trinkaus & Burkhardt AG (FRA: TUB), itself a subsidiary of HSBC Holdings plc (LSE: HSBA) in Great Britain. The firm's history dates to 1785 when Christian Gottfried Jäger founded a trading house in Düsseldorf. Christian Gottfried Trinkaus, one of the founder's nephews, took over the firm in 1852, naming it C.G. Trinkaus. In 1972, C.G. Trinkaus merged with Bankhaus Burkhardt & Co., changing their name to Trinkaus & Burkhardt. They became HSBC Trinkaus & Burkhardt KGaA in 1999. Headquartered in Düsseldorf, HSBCT&B provides a diverse range of financial products and services to institutions, high-net-worth private individuals, large middle-market companies and major corporations and institutions.
