Mr. Leavitt has been an esteemed member of the Wall Street research community since 1969.
He has spent most of his career as a research analyst and Director of Research at some of the most prominent firms on the Street.
Mr. Leavitt joined Argus Research in July 1969.
His career has included stints at Oliphant & Company, Wainwright Securities, Smith Barney and Salomon Brothers during which he consistently achieved honors as a member of the prestigious Institutional Investors’ All Star Team while covering electrical equipment and consumer electrical products industries.
Additionally, he received recognition in various other polls including Reuters, The Wall Street Journal and Greenwich Research.
As a Senior Equity Research Analyst at both Smith Barney and Salomon Brothers he was actively involved in their Research Management and Capital Commitment Committees.
In 1998, Mr. Leavitt joined Banc of America Securities where he was Director of New York Research.
Prior to joining American Fund Advisors in 2003, he established his own consulting company and worked at Bear Stearns & Company.
Mr. Leavitt has been widely praised by his clients, peers and the media for his insights, integrity and knowledge of the equities business.
He graduated from the University of Massachusetts and earned an MBA with Honors at Boston University.
