Rivka Sherman-Gold

Dr. Sherman-Gold's industry positions include being Chief Business Officer of Diatos SA, a Paris-based biotechnology company, where she spearheaded the company’s evolution into a product-development company by creating a clinical-product pipeline; President and CEO of Alydar Pharmaceuticals, a seed-stage company developing small-molecule therapeutics for treating cancer and cardiovascular diseases; Director of Business Development at Abgenix, a leading antibody company, where she played a key role in the growth and success of the company by initiating, negotiating, and managing multiple licensing partnerships with major pharmaceutical and biotech companies (Pfizer, Amgen, Schering-Plough, SmithKline Beecham (now GlaxoSmithKline), Centocor, J&J, Elan, Millennium, and others), generating hundreds of million dollars in revenues; Associate Director of Business Development at Athena Neurosciences (now Elan), where she initiated and spearheaded the creation of a strategic alliance between Athena and Elan; Director of Marketing and Scientific Applications at Axon Instruments, a leader in developing and commercializing instrumentation and devices in electrophysiology; and Senior Chemist at Syntex Diagnostic Division (Syva).
Dr. Sherman-Gold earned her B.Sc.
in chemistry with honors and M.Sc.
in biophysics and physiology from the Technion and a Ph.D.
in life-sciences from the Weizmann Institute of Science.
She completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Stanford University School of Medicine and earned an M.B.A.
from California State University at San Jose.
