Prior to launching Maymin Capital Management LLC, Mr. Maymin was a Portfolio Manager at Ellington Management Group, LLC from November 2000 to November 2004, where he launched and ran Ellington's entire equity derivatives and statistical arbitrage desks.
Mr. Maymin was also a strategist at Long-Term Capital Management from 1997 to 1999 where he traded volatility and dispersion, stock pairs, local vs.
foreign shares, high-yield bond arbitrage, emerging markets, and cross-shareholding strategies.
He was in Tokyo, Japan in 1998, trading Asian countries.
Mr. Maymin completed a M.S.
in Applied Mathematics and an A.B.
(Cum Laude) in Computer Science from Harvard University in a combined 3.5 years.
He is also ABD (all but dissertation) Ph.D.
in Finance from the University of Chicago.
Mr. Maymin successfully proposed his dissertation in behavioral finance in February, 2005.
He is also a Justice of the Peace in Greenwich, CT for a term ending January, 2009.
