He was a member of the Republic of Ireland’s Commission on Taxation (2008-2009) and the Government’s Advisory Group on Tax and Social Welfare (2011-2014).
During 2014 he was a member of the technical group that developed the living wage for Ireland.
He is a graduate of NUI Galway, UCC and the University of Dublin, Trinity College.
He is a fellow of the Regional Studies Association (FeRSA).
