Dr. Martin Hlusek is a Managing Director at FX Concepts.
He started his career in 1997 as Chief Economist at Expandia, a Central European equity brokerage firm based in Prague, Czech Republic.
In 2001, he moved to London to work as a strategist for Central and Eastern Europe and later on as an emerging markets currency trader for Standard Bank London.
From 2005 to 2006, Dr. Hlusek served as portfolio manager and quantitative analyst for Millennium Partners, managing portfolios focused on interest rate statistical arbitrage.
Between 2006 and 2010, he was CEO of Erste Bank's on-line equity broker.
He started working for FX Concepts as an external consultant in 2009 and joined the company in 2010.
Dr. Hlusek studied applied Mathematics at the Faculty of Nuclear Science of Czech Technical University and received a PhD in Economics from Charles University in Prague.
He wrote his PhD thesis at the University of Toronto supervised by Professor Alan White, a leading expert in the derivatives industry.
