The Alcoholic Beverage Medical Research Foundation, also known as ABMRF, is a non-profit organization that funds research and conferences to better understand the effects of alcohol on health and behavior. The non-profit company is based in Bel Air, MD. The foundation has awarded millions of dollars to projects concerning factors that influence transitions in drinking patterns, the effects of moderate consumption, mechanisms underlying the effects of alcohol, and the etiology of alcohol misuse. ABMRF has also sponsored or supported numerous scientific meetings for more than 30 years, providing an opportunity for researchers, clinicians, and students to share new findings and discuss the current state of knowledge in various areas of alcohol research with each other and with industry professionals.
