Prior to joining GoldenTree in 2007, Mr. Walzer was a Director at Angelo, Gordon where he initiated and oversaw investments aggregating several billion dollars in distressed securities and special situations in a variety of industries including telecommunications, cable, automotive, and financial services.
Previously, he spent one year at Redwood Capital Management and seven years at Franklin Mutual Advisers, where he focused on distressed and special situations in a wide range of industries.
Prior to this, he was an analyst for Jefferies and R.
D.
Smith & Co., two brokerages specializing in distressed and special situations.
Mr. Walzer holds an M.B.A.
from Harvard Business School and a B.S.
from Princeton University where he graduated Magna Cum Laude/ Phi Beta Kappa.
