Profile

Mr. Buchanan has a history of originating, structuring and managing complex leases and loans for private, public and non-profit companies.
From 1977 to 1987, he started and served as President of National Funding Corporation (NFC), a wholly owned subsidiary of National Medical Enterprises (currently known as Tenet Healthcare).
When NFC was sold to Bell Atlantic Corporation in 1987, he served as Executive Vice President of Bell Atlantic-Tricon Corporation (BAT), and helped growth the business to a $3.2 billion enterprise.
While at BAT, he created and developed several profitable finance divisions, the largest of which were the Aircraft Leasing and Government Finance divisions.
In 1994, BAT was sold to FINOVA Capital Corporation, where he served as Group Vice President in charge of 4 of 16 divisions.
In 1996, he founded J.
Paul Buchanan
& Associates, Inc., a financial services company that specialized in healthcare financing.
Since 2001, he served as Western Regional Manager and Healthcare Investment Advisor for Convergent Capital Partners, a Small Business Investment Company licensed by the SBA to make $1-$5 million loans to private enterprise.
