Gary P.
Burris
is the Vice President-Finance for the Technology Solutions Sector of BAE Systems North America.
He was appointed to this position in 1996 and is responsible for accounting, financial reporting, annual financial planning, management information systems, and compliance for TSS.
He is also the primary point of contact with the Government Administrative Contracting Officer and the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA).
All Sector financial and accounting functions report to him.
Mr. Burris began his career with one of TSS’ predecessor companies, Vitro, in 1969 in the coordination and engineering design departments.
He later became a systems analyst of financial management and budgeting functions with the program support department.
From 1984 to 1986, he served as Assistant Controller, assisting in management of corporate accounting financial controls, tax reporting, and contract cost accounting.
He was promoted to Vice President/Controller in May 1986 and, in this capacity, was responsible for formulating corporate accounting policy, financial reporting, financial controls, profit planning, treasury functions, and participating in the corporate planning process.
Mr. Burris was a U.S.
Navy missile technician aboard the USS George Washington for 7 years.
He has a BS in Accounting from the University of Maryland University College.
He is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the Maryland Association of CPAs, the National Contract Management Association, the Association for Corporate Growth, and the Financial Executives Institute (FEI), and the FEI’s Committee on Government Business.
