Mr. Belvedere is a native of Montreal, Canada where he attended McGill University, receiving a Bachelor of Science, major in mathematics, in 1974.
He subsequently became a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and attained the CFA designation.
He has over 28 years experience in the Canadian pension industry, where he has advised a variety of private and public organizations on pension plan design, funding and investment issues.
Most recently, he was a principal in the investment consulting practice of a major consulting firm, where he consulted to institutional clients on investment policy, strategy and implementation issues.
Over the last several years, he has contributed to the development of his former firm’s intellectual capital in the alternative investment area, with particular emphasis on absolute return strategy hedge funds.
He has authored articles on this subject and spoken at variety of conferences.
He has served on the Canadian Institute of Actuaries’ committee on Pension Plan Financial Reporting, lectured at Concordia University in Montréal and is a member of the client committee of Concordia University’s Kenneth Woods Portfolio Management Program, a unique initiative allowing top business and finance students to manage a portion of the university’s endowment funds.
