The firm was founded by Michael Hintze in 1999 as a global multi-strategy asset management firm. CQS offers a range of strategies and bespoke solutions in multi-strategy, convertibles, asset-backed securities, credit, loans, and equities.

S.A.C. Global Investors LLP (S.A.C. GI) is the alternative investment management subsidiary of S.A.C. Global Ltd. in Great Britain. Formerly known as Walter Capital Management LLP, the firm was founded by Richard Walter in 2000. S.A.C. bought a stake in the business in 2004 and renamed it S.A.C. Global Investors LLP in 2008. Based in London, the firm is affiliated with Stephen Cohen's US-based multistrategy hedge fund firm S.A.C. Capital Advisors LP.
