Mr. Simmer began his tax and financial counseling career in the Boston office of Coopers & Lybrand as a Tax Supervisor where he specialized in individual income tax and estate planning.
He continued his professional career as a Vice President with John Hancock.
At John Hancock, he developed investment strategies for individual investors and oversaw the development and analysis of tax advantaged investments.
Mr. Simmer also served as a Vice President with Liberty Financial, advising pension funds on investment allocation.
Prior to joining G.W.
& Wade in 1993, Mr. Simmer operated his own tax and financial counseling firm, providing tax and financial counseling services to individuals, professionals and private business owners.
Mr. Simmer earned his B.A.
in American Studies from Illinois Wesleyan University, J.D.
from Boston University School of Law, and M.S.
in Accounting from Northeastern University Graduate School of Professional Accounting.
Mr. Simmer is a licensed Certified Public Accountant and is admitted to practice law in Massachusetts.
He is a member of the American and Massachusetts Bar Associations.
Mr. Simmer is also a NASD Registered Securities Representative and an Investment Advisor Representative.
