Mr. Spies is the Managing Director of CEI Capital Management, LLC (CCML).
CCML uses Federal New Markets Tax Credits to leverage investments that are targeted to private sector businesses within low-income communities.
Prior to joining CCML in 2006, he served as the Chief Operating Officer for the Gulf of Maine Ocean Observing System, CEO of the National Association of Seed and Venture Funds, and for 5 years as CEO of the Finance Authority of Maine (FAME).
While at FAME he helped launch the Small Enterprise Growth Fund and served as fund manager during its first three years of operations.
